In the most beautiful late summer weather, we visited the new hydropower plant of the “Thüringischen Fernwasserversorgung” (TFW) in Erfurt, which went into operation just over a year ago.
The project manager of the Westringkaskade Mrs. Schulze and the head of drinking water In Central Thuringia, Mr. Hallebach, were very satisfied with the hydropower technology supplied by Wiegert & Bähr.
The 2-nozzle Pelton turbine is the most powerful plant of the so-called Westring cascade and generates about 6 million KWh per year.
Overall, renewable power generation is now sufficient to make TFW climate-neutral and thus make an important contribution to the energy transition.
A nice success to which we congratulate very warmly.
